While at first most cataracts are a mild annoyance and can simply be monitored, they can become quite frustrating. When cataracts begin negatively impacting your ability to see clearly or your ability to do daily tasks like drive, it’s time to act!

Contact lenses may be an excellent option for vision correction. Many people prefer contact lenses as opposed to glasses for various reasons ranging from aesthetic preference to the ability to wear goggles or non prescription sun glasses. In some cases, like with astigmatism, contact lenses may even enhance vision better than glasses. Technology has made some pretty spectacular advances with contact lenses. Did you know that they are even available in bifocal lenses? Our eye doctors also fit specialty contact lenses such as scleral lenses for corneal disease and irregularities.

Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness in America. It occurs when fluid cannot properly drain out of the eye causing pressure to build up inside the eye. This increased pressure can damage the optic nerve and cause irreversible vision loss. If left untreated the condition can worsen causing irreversible damage to the optic nerve.
Myopia, or nearsightedness, is very common. This basically means that you can see objects at close range but are unable to focus clearly on objects far away. Statistics show that instances of myopia may be on the rise, and there are growing concerns that this increased occurrence could be directly related to the time we spend in front of our many screens. Vision can usually be corrected with glasses or contact lenses; however, new advances in research have proven that if treated correctly, myopia progression can even be halted. We are able to help slow down myopia progression in children, preventing their vision from worsening.
